Dr. LaTanyua Blackwell is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and the CEO and Chief Medical Officer of Yorkshire Wellness Group in Albuquerque. Her practice focuses on family medicine, primary care, and medication management for behavioral health, with a sub-specialty in functional medicine that looks at how nutrition, stress, environment, and emotional health shape overall well-being.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a cardiothoracic intensive care unit registered nurse, a path that took her through teaching hospitals such as Columbia Presbyterian, Mount Sinai, and NYU Langone in Manhattan, plus the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. Traveling for that work gave her a close look at how different regions approach medical decision making and patient care.
She holds a nursing degree from Howard University, a master's from Monmouth University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University. She is also a federally certified medical examiner for the Department of Transportation and treats patients in New York, Maryland, and New Mexico, both in person and via telemedicine.
