John McClain, MD

John B. McClain, MD, has been a family doctor for 22 years and now practices direct primary care with YourFamilyDocArlington in Arlington. Friends call him Dr. John, and that's how patients come to know him too.

He believes patients deserve a doctor who puts them back at the center of their own care, with real time to talk, ask questions, and get answers before heading back to their day. After more than two decades in family medicine, what matters most to him is the exchange between doctor and patient and the chance to help people understand their own health well enough to make good decisions about it. That belief in direct, unhurried care is part of why he chose the direct primary care model in the first place.

A husband, father, and self-described G-Paw, Dr. John gardens in his spare time and reads widely, and he never turns down loud music.
