Alya Jawaid, MD

Dr. Alya Jawaid is an internist at Zephyr Direct Primary Care in St Paul. She graduated from Aga Khan Medical School in Karachi, Pakistan, and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota, training in both inpatient and outpatient care along the way. Her background includes time at HealthEast Maplewood, St John's hospital, and Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, and she sees adults ranging from healthy individuals to those managing complex, multi-system disease.

What drew her to direct primary care is the chance to spend real time with patients and help them navigate their own health journeys. She practices evidence-based medicine, follows major society guidelines, and believes this model leads to better outcomes, stronger patient relationships, and lower costs for everyone.

Dr. Jawaid has called Minnesota home for almost twenty years and is raising two children there. In her free time she enjoys volunteering, painting, and cooking for family and friends.
