Tessa Reinke, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified family medicine physician and the founder of Polaris Medical in Sandpoint, Idaho. She started the practice to offer thorough primary care for patients of all ages, with a focus on education, wellness, and managing chronic disease.
Reinke studied sociology and public health at Dartmouth College, then earned her medical degree at the Dartmouth-Geisel School of Medicine. Her residency at Texas A&M Family Medicine included focused training in women's health, and she explored international medicine through clinics in Kenya, Honduras, and Papua New Guinea. She went on to work as a full-spectrum family physician in rural eastern Washington and then North Idaho, applying a preventative, person-centered approach built around food, sleep, and movement.
She and her husband love traveling with their young children, and she is often found hiking, running, listening to an audiobook, or trying out a new recipe.
