Joseph Starkman

Dr. Joseph Starkman is a board certified family physician at Osteopathic Healing Arts in Mundelein. He earned his medical degree from Midwestern University-Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency through the University of Chicago (Northshore) Family Medicine Residency Program.

His approach blends conventional family medicine with osteopathic manipulation, homeopathy, nutrition, and functional medicine, and he also works with hormone testing and balancing and the HCG weight-loss protocol. Osteopathic manipulative therapy has been part of his practice with both children and adults since 2004, and he leans heavily on cranial osteopathy, having trained under Dane Shepherd, DO. He also draws on the Fulford Percussion Hammer and Dr. Fulford's techniques, the Fascial Distortion Model, myofascial release, and balanced ligamentous tension work.

Dr. Starkman has continued his homeopathic education through the New England School of Homeopathy, where he is finishing a two-year course set to complete in fall 2026.
