Elizabeth Baker, MD

Dr. Elizabeth Baker is a board-certified family physician at Sanctuary Family Health in Gurnee. She grew up downstate Illinois and graduated with honors from the University of Chicago before earning her medical degree at Southern Illinois University. Her residency training in family medicine took her to Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she also worked in public health service and academic medicine as a faculty member of her residency program.

Women's health became a particular focus during those years. She served as the physician for a small women's college in Pittsburgh and took part in grant-funded obstetrics research. After moving to northern Illinois in 1997, she practiced across private, public health, academic, and corporate settings, with a scope that once included delivering babies at home. She no longer practices obstetrics but still provides women's health care alongside wellness visits, acute care, and chronic disease management for patients of all ages.

She and her husband have six children, one grandchild, and a dog with plenty of energy to spare.
