Carin Sanchez, MD

Dr. Carin Sanchez is a board-certified internist and pediatrician at Vieux Care in Covington. She grew up in Metairie and spent thirteen years at the Academy of the Sacred Heart before earning a biology degree at Emory University in Atlanta, where she later spent two years researching depression and anxiety for the Department of Psychiatry. She returned to New Orleans for medical school at LSU, then trained in Houston, completing her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics in 2008 and staying on as chief resident at the University of Texas.

Back in New Orleans, Sanchez worked in the student health clinic at Tulane University before spending more than four years as a hospitalist at East Jefferson General Hospital. It was there that she began imagining a practice built around real relationships with patients, free from the pressures of insurance and government regulation. Vieux Care grew out of that vision. She spends her free time keeping up with her three energetic, good-natured boys.
