Elaine Habig, MD FACP

Dr. Elaine grew up in southwest Indiana and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana State University with a degree in Chemistry. She earned her MD from Indiana University Medical School. She completed her residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Habig has over 30 years experience as an Internist in private practice, both in hospital and outpatient settings. She developed a disease management software system to help physicians, which is still in use today. Dr. Habig enjoys all aspects of adult care, from the very simple to the most complex. Her areas of interest are diabetes, cardiology, chronic disease, and preventive care. She is well-known for her ability to "put the pieces together" and to solve problems with a holistic approach. Patients enjoy her ability to make everything simple and easy to understand. Dr. Habig has been married for 37 years and is the mother of three children. She balances work and family and understands the challenges of doing so for others. She loves playing the piano, singing in her church choir, growing and caring for plants and cats, and traveling.
