Joseph Summers, DO

Dr. Joey Summers is a board-certified family medicine physician at Direct Healthcare in Scottsdale, Arizona. He earned his medical degree at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and completed his Family Medicine residency at Scottsdale Health Care.

Teaching has been a steady thread throughout his career. Summers has precepted residents at the HonorHealth Family Medicine Residency Program, medical students at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, nurse practitioner students through the University of Phoenix, and third and fourth year medical students at A.T. Still University. He and his wife say what they love most about family medicine is the sheer variety of patients it brings.

Originally from Ohio, Summers and his wife have made a home in Arizona with their family of pets. He likes getting outdoors when he can, hunting in particular, and he recently picked the game of golf back up after a long hiatus.
