Kathleen Ann Galekovic, MD

Kathleen Ann Galekovic is a nurse practitioner at Direct Healthcare in Scottsdale, with 20 years of experience in the field. She earned her MSN in 2001 from the University of Phoenix's Family Nurse Practitioner program and spent her first eight years as a cardiology nurse practitioner before moving into internal medicine and family practice, where she has now worked for over a decade. Before becoming an NP, she worked as an RN in the neurosurgical ICU and later the pediatric ICU and NICU at St. Joseph Hospital, and she spent time as an RN at Mayo Clinic while completing her NP training. Her focus is on preventive medicine, healthy lifestyle habits, and managing chronic disease.

Kathleen paints, draws, and plays piano, and she wrote a children's book called Simon and Oliver and The Power of Dreams, inspired by a rescue chihuahua named Simon. She also travels to Kenya each year on medical mission trips, providing care to underserved communities in Nairobi, a country she has come to love.
