He grew up in Marin and Fresno, where his family moved for his father’s medical training. He studied Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley and is a proud alum of the UC Berkeley–UCSF Joint Medical Program, where his master's thesis mapped the relationship between air quality and asthma. He graduated from UCSF School of Medicine as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society and was selected to be a Pisacano Leadership Scholar, which recognizes future leaders in family medicine. He completed his residency training at UCSF, caring for an urban, underserved population at San Francisco General Hospital.Following residency, Dr. Pepper worked as a hospitalist in the East Bay before transitioning to full-time primary care at Panoramic Medicine in Mill Valley, where he managed a panel of 2,500 patients and served as Medical Director.Throughout Dr. Pepper’s career, he has remained deeply engaged in the Bay Area humanistic medicine movement—serving as UCSF faculty for the Healer's Art course and volunteering as a medical preceptor at UC Berkeley's student-run Suitcase Clinic. At Marin Family Medicine, Dr. Pepper provides comprehensive primary care with particular interests in preventive medicine and office-based procedures. He is especially drawn to areas of medicine without clear-cut answers—such as reproductive health, addiction medicine, and palliative care—where the patient-provider relationship is central to care. When not caring for patients, Dr. Pepper can usually be found in his garden, the kitchen, or hiking the trails of Mt. Tam and the High Sierra.
