There she learned that food was the universal language of love and care. She studied the intersections of biology and agriculture, nutrition and environmental sciences at the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara, and had a short but rewarding career as a pastry chef in Sonoma County. Her passions for food and community health were a natural pivot to the field of family medicine.Dr. Mendoza is a graduate of the UCSF School of Medicine and the Lifelong Family Medicine Residency Program, a member of the UCSF Family Medicine Educational Alliance. Her training emphasized outpatient medicine, including pediatrics, women’s health and breastfeeding medicine. She has facilitated group medical visits around menopause health and holistic management of chronic disease, and served as a primary care doctor at the Tahoe Forest rural health clinic in Truckee, CA.At Marin Family Medicine, Dr. Mendoza provides primary care with a particular interest in accompanying patients through transitions in life and health. As a mother of two, she brings deep empathy and lived experience to her work with families, aiming to foster resilience and connection through all of life’s seasons.
