Dr. James Althoff is a family physician at LSA Family Medicine Division (formerly Rural Family Medicine Associates) in Freeburg. Dr. Althoff was born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois. He received his BS in chemistry and biology from MacMurray College in 1989 and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Medical School at Urbana-Champaign in 1993. He completed his residency in family medicine at the SIU Family Practice Residency Program in Belleville, where he served as chief resident during his final year of training. Dr. Althoff and his wife, Kris, have two daughters, Emily and Rebecca.
