Dr. Brett Winkeler is a family physician at LSA Family Medicine Division (formerly Rural Family Medicine Associates) in Freeburg. Dr. Winkeler grew up in New Baden, Illinois. He attended undergrad at Quincy University, where he met his wife, Jennifer. After medical school at the University of Illinois at Rockford, he went to Spartanburg Regional Hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina, for his residency, where he served as chief resident. In 2008, Dr. Winkeler came to work at LSA Family Medicine Division. He has a special interest in treating sports injuries but enjoys treating patients of all ages. Dr. Winkeler resides in Smithton with his wife and two children, Sophie and Alex. In his time away from work, he is an avid golfer, volunteer coaching local sports teams, and looks forward once again to being on the sidelines of FCHS home football games.
