Winslow Murdoch, MD

Dr. Murdoch attended the Episcopal Academy before graduating cum laude in natural sciences and being elected into the AED premedical honor society at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his M.D. in 1986 at Thomas Jefferson Medical College where he received the Hobart Hare award for excellence in clinical medicine. Dr. Murdoch served as chief resident his final year at Montgomery Family Practice residency in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He has scored in the top percentile on his board examinations during all re-certification periods since graduation. Philadelphia Magazine's peer review has regularly ranked him as a "Top Doc" Family Medicine, most recently in 2021. He has also been voted one of "America's Top Family Doctors" recurringly. In addition to excellence in clinical practice, Dr. Murdoch is an educator and leader, and volunteers as a preceptor for family medicine residents and a teacher in family medicine for a number of medical students and institutions in the Philadelphia area. Dr. Murdoch was invited and served his full tenure of 12 years as a leading member of the Chester County Board of Health in PA. He currently serves as an active board member, and is a past President, of the Chester County Medical Society. He has spent over a decade serving as a delegate to the Pennsylvania Medical Society House of Delegates, focusing on primary care issues at the state level and has crafted a number of patient advocacy bills which have been adopted. Dr. Murdoch has special interests in medical weight loss, type 2 diabetes, psychopharmacology, cardiovascular disease prevention, as well as in the management of patients with multiple or complex medical problems. Recently, Dr. Murdoch has been training in the use of a handheld point of care ultrasound (POCUS) system for better diagnostic abilities in his day-to-day practice. He is very engaged in supporting the direct primary care model, and has a lifelong interest in herpetology.
